The performer then places a "No Entry" sign on top of a single card from the unchosen half of the deck. Next, the spectator deals through their chosen half, one card at a time, and stops at any point they wish. Let's say they stop at the 7 of Hearts. The performer removes the "No Entry" sign and reveals the card underneath. It's the 8 of Hearts! "Because of the 'No Entry' sign, you couldn't have a card with a higher value than mine!" The performance ends. The performer can use the same principle to produce a card one value higher than the chosen card with the same suit, regardless of the initial card.
