Beautifully shaped coffee pot by Veyrat & Bourdelle Silver Workshop. I found it in need of repair at a Parisian brocante. However, I was captivated by its fundamentally beautiful Art Deco form. I purchased it and had it repaired and re-silvered at the Christofle main store. The handle is made of rosewood. The craftsmanship of the 1920s-1930s was beautifully restored, even down to the handle. After the repair, it was never used and was displayed, after which it was stored in an anti-oxidation cloth bag. A Christofle bag will be included with your purchase. I purchased it at the brocante around 1990 and had it repaired by Christofle afterward. The cost of the repair and re-silvering was much higher than the selling price here. I have included an explanation of the Veyrat & Bourdelle Silver Workshop, which was under Christofle's umbrella for a period, from the internet: "History Founded in Lyon in 1896 by Henri Veyrat, a disciple of Armand Caillé, the company initially specialized in sterling silver. In 1919, the company name Veyrat & Bourdelle was born through a partnership between his son, Laurent Veyrat, and the sculptor F. Bourdelle, and the business expanded to include silver-plated metal products. It was particularly active during the Art Deco era from the 1920s to the 1960s, and from 1989 to 1997, there was a subsidiary of Christofle, "Veyrat & Bourdelle Orfèvre." Veyrat & Bourdelle's works are highly regarded for their elegance, and Art Deco pieces such as trays and tableware are examples. The company supplied silverware to prestigious institutions and is famous for producing a set of tableware for Air France's Concorde in 1977." Height: 19cm Weight: 565g
