This is a Shinobue from the Shishida school, Chikusui model, in the key of five, with six holes, and a natural color finish with tenjito (decorative wrapping) made of rattan. This Shinobue is a Chikusui model from the Shishida school, crafted by the second-generation flute maker, Chuichi Ito, of the Ito Chikan Instruments workshop, who succeeded the flute maker Shishida from the late Edo period. This piece is over 40 years old♪ The bamboo is well-dried, resulting in excellent sound quality and tone, and the natural, refined character of the bamboo is beautifully expressed, making it a fine instrument.
