Each "corner" has been sanded multiple times to ensure a smooth finish, allowing for a peaceful year. I make each one with the hope that the buyer will be blessed with happiness and a calm, safe life. I have cut "laughing bamboo" for mini kadomatsu (New Year's pine decorations) from the slender bamboo (Hachiku) in my garden. It's a set of 6 pieces, approximately 15cm long. The cut ends look like cats, so please feel free to use them. I'm not sure if I can cut them to look like cats again, so I will be shipping the actual product. *The third image is what will be shipped. [Example of how to arrange 3 laughing bamboo pieces] *See image 4 I photographed the 3 laughing bamboo pieces in a cylindrical glass cup, held together with rubber bands at the top and bottom. The bamboo is oily and slippery, so rubber bands are easier to use than cable ties. You could also temporarily secure the unseen center parts of the three pieces with adhesive or masking tape (if you want to be able to take them apart later) before using cable ties. [About the price] The production takes several days because it is "all handmade" and "requires time and physical effort." Cutting the bamboo and cutting it diagonally are all done by hand, one by one. Then, I use multiple scissors to cut off the frayed parts, and finish with multiple files. It is especially physically demanding, so I cannot cut out many in a day. I do this one by one, while considering the weather, doing daily chores, and packing and shipping to other customers.
