It's dog ears, and I apologize to those who don't want to damage their plushies, but I struggled with how to keep it on since a headband would fall off... so I ended up attaching it with safety pins ( 'ᢦ' )← The needle is surprisingly difficult to get through near the seams on the head, but it goes through easily if you make the width wider.
