Due to the thickness where the fabric is joined, it might not stay perfectly round when shortened... I think it should be fine once it's on the neck, though. My cat tends to get bald spots from collars, so this fabric probably won't work, and I've decided not to use it. I bought it online, and the fabric felt different than I expected (´・ω・｀) The texture isn't rough, so I think it would be recommended for cats that don't easily get bald spots from collars.
