I've knitted a belly band for children using fair trade organic cotton yarn. The knitting method is designed so that it can be worn by a wide range of children, from babies to elementary school students, both boys and girls. The yarn is 100% fair trade certified organic cotton. Natural rubber is used, but to prevent the rubber from directly touching the skin, even the small amount of natural rubber woven inside is covered with organic cotton on the outside. 100% organic cotton touches the skin! It warms the belly with a soft, fluffy feeling, even for itchy, dry skin. Since it hasn't been treated with shrinkage-resistant chemicals, it may seem long at first, but it will shrink about 5-7cm after a few washes. Because it contains no polyester and uses natural rubber, it will stretch if washed frequently. We recommend washing only when necessary, and gently by hand.
