This is a lid that was placed on top of soba noodle bowls when delivering food in the Showa 40s (1965-1974). They stopped being used after the invention of plastic wrap, so there are many left. It's a product of old Japan, so the craftsmanship is excellent. There are some areas where the paint is slightly chipped. See photo ⑤.
