This is a rare, made-in-Japan Squier Telecaster that has been, unbelievably, DIY refinished and had string-through body modification done (see photo 2). The string-through bushings are slightly misaligned...). The serial number is missing, so it's not confirmed, but it's believed to be an E-serial from the 1980s. Alder body + Rosewood fingerboard The rosewood fingerboard is quite dark. The maple has some figuring. It's slightly clearer than in the photos. The finish is water-based stain + exotic gel (urethane) see-through white. It's been about 10 years, so there are many scratches. The pickups are a Seymour Duncan Quarter Pound set, sound checked. This pickup set alone is currently worth 35,000 yen, so I think it's a great deal. The bridge, pickguard, and neck plate have been replaced with genuine Fender Mex parts. The decal is a 70s Fender decal. String height is about 2mm on the 6th string and 1.5mm on the 1st string. The neck is set with a slight forward bow. The truss rod was loosened slightly during setup. The frets have about 70% life remaining, with some wear. I was thinking of having them leveled in about a year. As it's a 40-year-old instrument, I recommend that you have it maintained as needed after purchase. As it is quite old, I will not accept returns or exchanges. *Photos of the guitar before modification are also attached. *I will remove the strings and separate the body and neck for shipping. It will come with the original, flimsy soft case. If you purchase it with the hard case, I will ship it in the hard case without removing the neck.
