The production period is around 1880-1900. On top of the highly transparent clear crystal, a rare color, orange overlay glass (colored overlay), which was used only for a very limited number of works at the time, is applied, and the pattern is brought out by carefully etching only that color layer with acid, the so-called cameo carving is used. The pattern depicts the dog rose, which is also the origin of the variety name, in a flowing manner, expressing the admiration for nature and the organic dynamism of plant motifs that are characteristic of the Art Nouveau period. This work is a special specification with a larger area of flower decoration using colored glass than usual. The design of the wild rose seen in Eglantier is often colored sparingly as an accent, but in this work, the colored glass flowers are arranged to cover the surface of the vessel, giving a more gorgeous and three-dimensional impression. In addition, the surface is etched with Baccarat-like patterns of plants and nuts, and the expression changes delicately depending on the light and angle. This work was produced before 1936, so it does not have the Baccarat stamp. It is a very valuable piece with an extremely small number of existing pieces.
