The following is quoted from the purchase site ⬇️ Tribal Rug Age: 1960s Origin: Andkhoy / Afghanistan Material: Wool x Wool Size: 80cm x 105cm (excluding fringe) Thickness: 6mm This is a small prayer rug from the Ersari tribe, a sub-group of the Turkmen who live in northern Afghanistan, with a striking, rough weave and an impactful "filpai" pattern, also known as elephant footprints. It has a rough weave like the Taimani tribe, which is not typical of Turkmen rugs, and a soft texture with long pile. The color is also unique, with a lustrous orange-gold hue, and the large "Suleiman Gul" design with abrash (color variation) is quite impressive. Although it is 55 years old, reaching the semi-antique stage, it is in good condition with no noticeable damage or repairs. It would also make a great primitive art piece as a wall hanging. ◎ About the products Some items have been professionally repaired in Iran, but others have not been repaired, prioritizing the overall appearance, such as when there are no significant issues. Please understand that there may be minor repairs that we are unaware of. We have purchased these rugs from local sellers as having been cleaned, but please note that some sand and pile debris may remain. Finally, regarding the rug itself, there is a wool-specific odor. Measurements are taken from the center, but please understand that there may be errors due to the unique distortions of hand-woven rugs, shrinkage from water cleaning, and color unevenness due to aging from plant-based dyes. We believe that these are also part of the charm of vintage rugs. Thank you.
