＊It is said that tin cups have a high ion effect that removes impurities and harshness from water and alcohol, mellowing the taste. They are also auspicious sake vessels that do not rust or corrode. These are three types with a large diameter that spreads the aroma of sake: Large (photo 4), Medium (photo 5), and Small (photo 6). Just chilling them slightly in the refrigerator cools the entire vessel, making cold sake even more delicious. Just looking at the three different designs lined up on a glass shelf was somehow lovely... The small engraved kanji in the center of the back of the tin cup reads "Hon-zuzu" (pure tin) in the upper right, "Suzuhan" (錫半) on the top line, and "Tokusei" (特製 - special make) on the bottom line. "Suzuhan" was an established manufacturer that opened in Osaka in the mid-Edo period and manufactured tin products until the 1990s. This engraving indicates that it is a product specially made by Suzuhan. Since they are quite old and valuable, I have kept them carefully stacked in a tea chest, so they are clean, but there are some minor scratches.
