This is a rare item from the U.S. Navy in Japan. Please note that there will be no re-listing. United States Fleet Activities Yokosuka Friendship Festival This item was obtained on October 6, 2024, during the open day at the Yokosuka U.S. Naval Base. It's an incredibly cool wall hanging (approximately 20 cm in diameter) from the Yokosuka U.S. Naval Hospital, which was a privilege to obtain. The hospital was established in 1950 and is located within the Yokosuka Naval Facility in Yokosuka City, Kanagawa Prefecture. It provides medical care to U.S. Navy personnel, civilian employees, and their families stationed in Japan. It has branches at Naval Air Facility Atsugi, Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni, and Sasebo Naval Base. I received this from a friend working at the U.S. Naval Base in Yokosuka, but I don't fully understand its value or how to use it, so I'm selling it at a bargain price. It has a solid, American presence, making it perfect for decorating the walls of your American-style interior! Commemorating the United States of America. It features a three-dimensional design, made of high-quality metal with detailed reproduction, and has a convenient hole for easy wall hanging. The current hospital site was previously occupied by the Imperial Japanese Navy Hospital, which existed from 1881 (Meiji 14). This hospital was damaged in the Great Kanto Earthquake of 1923 (Taisho 12) and rebuilt in February 1931 (Showa 6) as a hospital and educational facility. After the end of the Pacific War, the occupying forces took over the site, and it was established as a U.S. Navy hospital on September 11, 1950 (Showa 25), with the motto "Here to SERVE with CARE". This item is also perfect for paintball, survival games, airsoft, playing American police, military enthusiasts, streetwear, and fashion. It not only looks cool but also has weight, giving it a solid, American presence! *Please understand that taking photos inside the facility was strictly prohibited, so I am unable to include photos of the interior. #USArmy #Marines #Navy #AirForce #USAF #USMC #SWAT #Police #military #surplus #okinawa #Yokota #Yokosuka #badge
