It's hung above a sleeping baby, and when the baby moves their hands and feet, the ball's plastic bell rings, stimulating the baby. To make it easy for babies to hold, I've filled it with soft, fluffy craft cotton, so it won't hurt if they bump into it. During the crawling stage, babies can chase after the gently rolling ball.
