This is a top-of-the-line double reverse cassette deck from Marantz. Includes remote control and a copy of the instruction manual! Made in 1993 I purchased this unit in June 2025, with a 90-day warranty after servicing, and used it for about 10 hours. In my subjective opinion, there were no particular issues or problems with either the A or B decks. I am selling it to organize my equipment. For reference, here is the maintenance performed at the time of purchase: ・Disassembly and greasing of the mechanism ・Replacement of drive belts (using high-precision audio-grade belts with the correct size and tension) ・Exterior and internal cleaning ・Pinch rollers were lightly shaved and cleaned. ・Heads cleaned. ・Capstans cleaned. ・Heads were polished very thinly with a special chemical, improving sound quality compared to regular cleaning. ・Record/playback level adjustment. ・Azimuth adjustment ・Tape speed adjustment using a test tape. ・Sound quality check by ear using multiple commercially available music tapes. ・Bias check and adjustment. ・Head demagnetization using a demagnetizer Reference: https://audio-heritage.jp/MARANTZ/player/sd515.html ・This is not a new item.
