Furthermore, because the enshrined deity quelled the epidemic that raged during the reign of Emperor Sujin, and because the master brewer, Takaha no Ikuhinomikoto, brewed fine sake with the divine assistance of the enshrined deity, the deity is widely worshiped as a god of medicine and sake brewing.
