They use hand looms with shuttle threads of gold and silver foil, such as those used in the Shosoin Treasure Repository's high-class Karaori and Kinshu Ori, and have produced numerous masterpieces, mainly using Nishijin's Nuki-nui weaving to create three-dimensional works. This is a "Shouhi Ori" item, popular among obi lovers, that is easy to tie and doesn't easily loosen. The "Cattleya Flower" is boldly woven in a large pattern using the sukui-ori technique, and the gold thread in the center of the flower shines with a glossy finish.
