This is a brand new, unsewn, rolled Nishijin-ori fukuro obi (formal obi). This is a very beautiful fukuro obi that uses the special technique of "issen happyaku kuchi-ori" (1,800-count weave) to exquisitely depict the "karakusa hoshoku saikamon" (arabesque and jeweled flower pattern). Issen happyaku kuchi-ori uses many colored threads and is costly, so it is only woven by a few manufacturers today. The karakusa hoshoku saikamon is expressed on the obi through the fine weave of issen happyaku-ori. Please note that this is a rolled obi, so the lining and obi core are not attached.
