This is authentic indigo dyeing from Tokushima Prefecture, done by hand-shibori (tie-dyeing). I received this as a company celebration gift about 20 years ago, which originally cost 30,000 yen. I kept it in its box, unused, because I didn't want to waste it. I believe its value has increased further now due to the decline in skilled artisans and labor, as well as rising prices. It can be used as a table cloth, interior decoration, a kotatsu cover, or a furoshiki (wrapping cloth). Although it is new and unused, it has been stored at home for a long time, so I am offering it to those who understand this. This item has been stored for a long time, so I recommend washing it before use. I have included photos of the entire piece. There are 2-3 spots that have discolored to brown due to long-term storage, which are not easily noticeable unless you look closely. I believe these will fade with washing. As it is genuine natural indigo dyeing, the indigo color will bleed initially when washed, so please understand this before use. I have disposed of the box because it was deteriorated. I will send only the contents. It is a beautiful fabric with a deep, rich blue on both edges, and a pattern of soft, curved plant motifs arranged within the defined borders. This is a one-of-a-kind item. Similar items in similar condition are being sold on Mercari for 9,800 yen. Nowadays, there are many works made by machines or overseas that look good, but this is a pure, hand-shibori, plant-dyed product made in Japan. It is a work of art that is unlike industrial products.
