I often use "kuromoji" (a type of wooden pick) at tea ceremonies held a few times a year, so I rarely used my Tsugaru-nuri confectionary picks. I didn't even know they were in my cupboard. There are some signs of use, though minor. The back of the fork and knife, as well as the handles, are finished with an elegant black lacquer.
