In the GRAND PRIX finals in May, he won the GP quarterfinals by 1R KO against Vandar Marv, won the semi-finals after a fierce battle that went to a second extension round against Ernesto Hoost, and in the finals, he defeated Mike Bernardo, who had been KO'd twice and never won before, by a 2R KO with the Hug Tornado, achieving his long-cherished first K-1 GP victory.
