A four-tiered jubako (lacquered food container) decorated with a blue and white floral and bird pattern. This belonged to my ancestors from the Meiji era. They used to put simmered dishes in it for the New Year. Since it's made of ceramic, it keeps food fresh for a long time, which is reassuring. It has a stately presence when placed on a shelf. The bottom tier has a crack, but it's 8 centimeters deep. It's useful for large families.
