This is a Nagoya obi with a single-layer construction (Matsuba style), without lining. Large flowers and leaves are woven into the red-toned fabric. The back of the taiko tare (the double-layered part) (approx. 109cm) is plain without any woven pattern (photos 4 & 6). The tesaki side (hand tip) is plain without any woven pattern (photos 3 & 7). I found this while organizing my parents' house. This is my mother's obi, who used to practice the tea ceremony (an item from the Showa era). ● Size (approx.): Width 31cm, Length 3m52cm ● Material: Unknown (I believe it's a natural material) ● Condition It has been stored in a kimono chest made of paulownia wood for many years. There is a weaving irregularity? (threads sticking out) on the back (photo 16). There are wrinkles (folds) due to storage.
