EPIPHONE by Gibson J-45 Studio Acoustic Guitar Epiphone This is the Epiphone J-45 Studio, a more affordable model of the Gibson J-45. It features a solid Sitka spruce top and a round shoulder with selected mahogany sides and back. Despite the price, it uses a solid top and has good sound. I purchased it last year and installed an L.R. Baggs Element preamp. The preamp is powered by a 006P battery at the base of the neck. New D'Addario EJ-16 phosphor bronze strings have been installed.
