This is a formal visiting kimono (awase) made of crepe silk (chirimen) in a slightly muted willow charcoal color, a grayish dark yellowish-green. Approximate measurements are:裄丈 (yuki丈, from center back neck to wrist) 70 cm, 袖丈 (sleeve length) 46 cm, 身丈 (height from shoulder) 161 cm, 前幅 (front width) 24 cm, and 後ろ幅 (back width) approximately 30 cm. The garment features a beautiful gradation dye (ぼかし染め, bokashi-zome) depicting a sunrise or sunset, with two birds flying above the water. The lining (hakke) is in a similar color to the main fabric, but slightly less muted.
