I received this as a gift for a celebration. It was very useful for going out to eat for events and such. I've only used it a few times, but there are some faint stains. Please refrain from purchasing if you are concerned about this. I think it can be used until around 3 years old. We used it even when our child was 4. It probably depends on the child's build.
