The pediment sculptures of the Temple of Aphaia on the island of Aegina (circa 500 BC / circa 490 BC - circa 490 BC / circa 480 BC) are among the most famous and beautiful works of Greek marble sculpture. Discovered in an excavation in 1811, the fragments of this marble sculpture were moved to the Glyptothek in Munich in 1827.
