This is a bubble radio cassette player, the "Cobra Top," sold by Panasonic around 1991. The operation panel rises electrically. It's a versatile radio cassette player with a double cassette deck (cassette 2 for recording), CD player, and radio, all powered by a 4-speaker system and amplifier. It also features an AUX input for external devices and a CD output for connecting to other output devices. This unit has been repaired after experiencing malfunctions with cassette and CD playback. The cassette deck had deteriorated and broken reel rotation gears, which have been replaced with alternative gears. Cassette 1 was not broken, but it was replaced preventatively. The CD player issue was due to deteriorated electrolytic capacitors, which have been replaced, allowing for normal CD reading and playback. Note that it does not appear to support CD-R playback. The AA battery holder for the clock had corroded due to battery leakage, so the contact springs and plates have been replaced. AA batteries for the clock will be included. FM radio reception is normal, but the antenna condition did not improve much even after cleaning. The front panel and speakers have been removed to clean dust that had entered behind the speaker nets, and the exterior has been cleaned with a plastic protective polish. I have confirmed that this unit can record from CD to cassette, and the used tape used for testing will be included for listening. There is no remote control. There is no commercially available cardboard box that fits this size, so I will cut a cardboard box and pack it with bubble wrap. This is a working unit, but it is old, so please understand that it is sold "as is" with no returns. Please consider purchasing this item with the above conditions in mind.
