This work belongs to the "Bamboo Series," a masterpiece known for its twisted gradation glass, and its deep ruby color and precise optic (spiral) decoration clearly demonstrate the advanced molding techniques that Baccarat was known for at the time. The strong optical effect applied to the thick crystal emits a glow from within when it receives light, possessing the transparency and weight unique to Baccarat. The base is decorated with elaborate bronze casting, and the design of the mythical beast motif is a gorgeous design that follows the style of Napoleon III.
