U.S. Military Surplus These overpants are from the 1940s, during World War II. Before the Air Force became independent in 1947, it was known as the U.S. Army Air Forces (USAAF). These are heavy-zone range overpants issued to pilots as cold-weather gear. They were deployed as a set with the B-11 flight jacket. Both side pockets are double-layered, with a pocket and a pass-through. The lining from the waist to around the knees is alpaca. The lining below the knees is wool. The "ARMY AIR FORCE" stamp is still clear. Belt loops allow for wear without suspenders. A sewing tag remains inside the right rear pocket. An order tag indicates delivery to the 329th Bombardment Squadron in 1951. The order number suggests a 1944 contract. Deadstock, new and unused. Made by H. BERNSTEIN. Marked size: 38 This is not the typical pants size 38, but rather the jacket size for the set. Please refer to the actual measurements. Flat measurements: Total length 110cm, Waist 45cm, Rise 38cm, Inseam 72cm, Thigh width 36cm, Hem width 24cm (approx.) Apart from age-related deterioration, there is no noticeable damage. Major shops sell similar, oversized, used items in good condition for around 43,000 yen (excluding shipping). Deadstock items like this are unlikely to appear in the future. Also available are a genuine B-11 jacket (if the size matches, how about a set?), A-9 flight pants, and a civilian B-9 jacket (deadstock)!
