The drive system uses a brushless direct-drive motor with DC servo control, providing excellent characteristics. The tonearm is designed using the rotating parts of the MA-202, and the headshell uses the H-303, which has low resonance. Damping material is used in the arm mounting section, and measures are taken to prevent resonance as a player system. The inside force canceller applies Micro's unique spring tension and is an easily adjustable stylus pressure-compatible variable type. Fine adjustments for 33 1/3 and 45 rpm are independent structures, and can be varied within a range of ±6%. A large mirror-type stroboscope is also included for speed checking. The cartridge uses the M-2100mkII, which is a further improvement of the M-2100. It is equipped with an oil-damped arm lifter, which is linked to on-off and turntable start. The inside of the cabinet uses sufficient reinforcement and damping materials, and is designed to counter resonance and howling in conjunction with rubber feet. Soft rubber is used in rotating parts that require delicate adjustments, such as the speed fine-tuning control and the main weight for stylus pressure adjustment.
