This is a double-handled vase that I purchased at an antique market about 10 years ago. I liked its slim silhouette despite its solid feel, and I brought it home. The different expressions on the front and back are also nice. I used to switch them depending on the weather. The ears are chipped and cracked from the time of purchase. The cracks have been repaired with something like a transparent adhesive. The shop owner said it was from the mid-Edo period. These types of items are often large, and it's rare to find a slightly smaller vase like this. It's easy to display, and the size gives it a certain presence. It would be good for a flower vase, but since the crack extends below the waist, it's best to use an inner container.
