This is a sometsuke (blue and white) ceramic dish, a flower-shaped plate with peonies and butterflies painted in cobalt blue. I purchased it at an antique market and have since displayed it in a display case at home, but I am selling it due to decluttering. Both pieces have cracks, chips, scratches, and stains, so I am listing them as "with scratches and stains." I believe the age is late Edo period (late Tokugawa shogunate), so it's over 100 years old. I hope you will consider the age. Please understand that these are items stored at home and are old. Please refrain from purchasing if you are looking for perfection or are overly sensitive. Photos 4-10 are of the left dish, and photos 11-18 are of the right dish. The crack on the right dish has been repaired. It's unclear if it was repaired at the time, but there are traces of hard, glassy material, so I suspect that melted glass was used at the time, but this is just a guess. Both dishes are approximately 14cm in diameter.
