This is a small-dai ware vessel called "Warizansho" (split Japanese pepper). ◎ Approximately 11cm in diameter x 7cm in height ▷ It has a unique shape that resembles the bursting of Japanese pepper berries. ▷ As an auspicious item for the prosperity of descendants, it is a historical vessel that has been used in tea kaiseki (tea ceremony cuisine) since the Azuchi-Momoyama period. ▷ It is characterized by the clay containing a lot of iron and the glaze of straw ash (warabaiyu). ▷ The deep beauty of the glaze and the free-spirited flowing patterns are characteristic, and it is used for serving side dishes and aemono (dressed dishes), or as a serving plate. Because it is handmade, there are individual differences in color and texture.
