Kenzo Fukui's leather bag, characterized by its plump texture. This is a work by an artist whose creations were selected as "World Masterpieces" by Martell, a French brandy maker. Kenzo Fukui had a studio in Hayama, Kanagawa Prefecture, where he handcrafted leather works. He wasn't very well-known in Japan, as he was a man known only to those in the know, but he was highly regarded overseas. Purchased from an antique shop. Unlike items in general circulation, there are no imprints or markings. It is believed that Mr. Fukui presented a very small number of handcrafted items to friends and close relatives, making this a very valuable piece (purchase price: Large: 28,000 yen, Small: 19,500 yen).
