This is a bentwood futaoki (lid rest) with a traditional Japanese design of cherry blossoms and autumn leaves in a cloud-and-brocade pattern. As it is bentwood, the seam is likely at the front, with accent paintings on either side. I think having a bentwood item among various tea utensils gives a certain lightness and a nice feel. Tea utensils tend to be dominated by ceramics and the kama (tea kettle), which can feel hard and heavy... The maker is Bansho Hashimura, a famous wood craftsman known for bentwood items. I don't see a mark on the futaoki, but I've seen similar futaoki with different designs, and they also didn't have a mark. I suppose that's just how it is.
