1968 neck, 1966 pickup assembly, 1967? refinished body Transition logo, large headstock Purchased from a vintage instrument store in Tokyo. I was told that the previous owner stripped the Olympic White finish from 1967 because it had uneven sun fading. There are remnants of the finish in the cavities. Thinking about it now, what a waste... The pickups are from 1966, but I judged that this was a common case of a difference in the shipping and assembly periods. The neck has been refretted with medium jumbo frets (I think), suitable for practical use. It was originally attached to a sunburst body (judged by the paint marks). There are screw holes for installing Kluson tuners after removing the original tuners. Currently, the original F tuners have been reinstalled. The large headstock and transition logo are very popular and have been re-evaluated in recent years! There are dents and dings on the body. The headstock has considerable weather checking. Please consider it as a sign of character. Great sound! Good wood resonates well. It's an exaggeration to say it's like an acoustic guitar, but the vibrations that resonate in your palm while playing are pleasant, and I would describe the neck as feeling like it's sticking to your hand. In this day and age, complete original examples are worth 2, 3, or 4 million yen. They rarely appear on the market, but even the pickup assembly alone is worth a considerable amount. This is a player's condition, with a refinished body and a body & neck from different eras, so it's offered at a lower price. All the images in the photos are included.
