I placed a bottom board (handmade) and a towel underneath, so I don't think my feet touched it directly. Since it's hardly been used, I haven't washed it, but I have removed any lint with a roller. As it is not a new item, those who are sensitive to such things should refrain from purchasing. The color may be slightly different from the photos. You might consider it to be a bit closer to green. (There is a possibility that I haven't captured the color well m(_ _)m) There is an instruction plate, but there is no outer bag, so it is stored in a Ziploc bag.
