Regarding the string attachment at the top, there is a gap of about 4mm between the board and the chirimen fabric (see image 5). This is likely a design to allow the string to move freely, but please refrain from purchasing if you are concerned. Also, there is some paint chipping on the lower part of the board (see image 6).
