This is a keyaki (Japanese zelkova) inro (a small, tiered container) meticulously crafted by my father, whose hobby is woodworking. The handle? is made of ebony. It has been well-received, used for things like carrying medicine, during iaido practice, karaoke, Awa Odori and Oharabushi Bon Odori dances. It was finished painstakingly using only chisels, without the use of machines. I've received kind words, such as "It's hard to believe a amateur made this," and "You can feel the warmth of the wood."
