The knobs have no scratchiness, and the sound output is good. The back label is peeling. The pedal guide bush has been replaced with a new one, so it can be used immediately. This is a later model, after the BOX serial (paper serial) of the mid-period Japanese-made models was replaced with a serial number sticker on the lower part of the back label. As a characteristic of Japanese-made models, the sound is more robust, and the amp-like quality is far superior to that of Taiwanese-made models, with delicate high-frequency expression and powerfulness across the entire range. The boxy sound is also strong, and it is perfect for small home amplifiers, helping to compensate for the lack of volume. The appearance also has a unique paint thickness that creates a more substantial atmosphere than the Taiwanese-made models. The DS-2 is still popular worldwide as an effector used by Kurt Cobain and John Frusciante. It seems that the DS-1, which Kurt used, broke down relatively early, and the excellent live sounds of "LIVE AT READING" and "MTV Studios 1992" are from after he switched to the DS-2.
