This is a very rare trombone, the KARL MONNICH 3000, made by a German manufacturer. It has a characteristically German sound, with a core yet bright and resonant tone, and the sound projects forward easily when played. The slide has been adjusted by a repairman. The water key cork has also been replaced, making this instrument ready to play. Although it is a used item and has minor scratches and small dents, there is no critical damage. The best feature of this KARL MONNICH 3000 is that it's "bright without sounding thin." The sound starts quickly the moment you blow into it, and the attack of the tongue is crisp, so the outline remains when playing themes or brass rhythms. It's easy to make the sound project forward and not get buried in the band. Moreover, it's not just a flashy, tinny sound; the resonance has depth. It has a core in the mid-range, and overtones gently ride on top, so the sound doesn't thin out even with long tones, and it responds well, producing sound with little breath. Conversely, when you blow strongly, the density increases and the impact increases, so it's easy to get a "definitive" sound in jazz and pop phrases, as well as in unison parts and horn sections in vocal pieces.
