I purchased this new and have played about 30 games with it. I've adjusted the pitch, and I've plugged one spot with a thumb insert. The plug has a small chip (see photo 4). It worked fine, but I recommend you assume it's meant to be plugged for peace of mind. I will remove the grip before shipping.
