This appears to be an old soy sauce bottle. It has a "Chicken Sauce" logo and the words "Chicken Sauce" and "Fragrant and Delicious" written in vertical right-to-left script. The entire body has a "san-kuzushi" pattern, and the lid has an embossed rose-like design. It was found in its original box, wrapped in old newspaper or a magazine. I believe it is unused. I will be selling it without cleaning it to preserve the atmosphere. Based on the contents of the newspaper or magazine that wrapped the bottle, I believe it dates from around 1936-1939. The same bottle and box (though not the exact same individual item) are featured on page 25 of Kounosuke Sakazaki's book, "Embraced by Japanese Glass."
