Sebastian Scheidt, born in Germany in 1962. In 1982, he gained experience in ceramic studios in England and the United States. In 1984, he moved to Mashiko and studied under Tatsuzo Shimaoka, a Living National Treasure, for two and a half years, learning the techniques of Mashiko ware. Currently, he creates pottery in his studio in Germany, utilizing the natural textures of Mashiko ware while producing rhythmic and structural works. He is a figure in the lineage of Gerd Knapp. He is internationally recognized and his works are in collections of museums in England, etc. According to the previous owner, this piece is from his Mashiko period. However, there is no original box or signature on the work. There are kiln marks and cracks on the front and back. There are small holes from the molding process. There is some soiling. As I am an amateur, I cannot judge the authenticity of the work, so please consider this when making your decision. The condition is generally good.
