I upcycled an old Nagoya obi. The obi has not been cut. It can be used as an obi if unraveled. Rubber bands and an obi締め (decorative cord) are used for the knot. It is sewn in a few places to maintain its shape, but please handle it with care. It looks three-dimensional and very luxurious, and will brighten up your room. Even if it comes undone, it can be used as a table center, or cut into smaller pieces for placemats or shoe cabinet mats. Those who are good at sewing can also use it to make Japanese-style accessories.
