The M-51 is a valuable historical artifact. The shell is made of glossy nylon-cotton fabric. Personally, I prefer it to the early cotton ones because it's lighter and has a more alluring sheen. The big difference from the M-65 is the coyote fur hood that attaches to the integrated hood of the shell, giving it a rich look. It's the best. The liner is also a rare, thick wool boa. It's not pile. I think this wool boa is cool on its own. ⚫︎The shell is dated 1951, and of course, it has an aluminum zip. There are no tears or stains. ⚫︎The mil-spec print on the liner is almost completely gone and barely visible. There are no moth holes. ⚫︎Hood: The printed mil-spec is barely legible, possibly 1953? The fur is in good condition, with no shedding. Overall, it's in good condition. Approximately 75 years have passed since it was made. It's a historical vintage piece.
