The MXR Duke of Tone Overdrive is based on the legendary pedal ANALOG.MAN "King of Tone," and was reconstructed through a joint development between Analog Mike and MXR. During development, Analog Mike, the head of ANALOG.MAN, repeatedly tested the pedal, reproducing the clear and warm sound of the King of Tone. The controls are the same as the original: VOLUME, DRIVE, and TONE knobs, and an OD/BOOST/DIST switch to select the clipping mode. The BOOST mode allows for a wide range of use, from a natural clean boost to a gain booster that fully drives the amp. The OD mode provides a superb crunch sound with roughness and compression, and the DIST mode covers all tones with a deeper drive sound.
