This jacket, which appeared around 2008, has sleeves that are about 7/8 length, making it a shirt jacket that's perfect for the changing seasons, as you can roll up the sleeves once or twice for the optimal length. The OPERATIONAL DRESS UNIFORM (ODU) jacket is used by the U.S. COAST GUARD (USCG), a part of the U.S. military. Despite being the Coast Guard, it rivals the navies of countries around the world in capability and scale, making it the largest and most powerful. If you think of a U.S. military jacket made of this kind of ripstop material, you might imagine the BDU jacket with four flap pockets, but this one has only two chest pockets, with a pen holder in the left chest pocket. The flaps are secured with Velcro instead of buttons, giving it fewer tactical elements than a BDU jacket, making it more casual to wear.
