I am selling this item because my family gave it to me a long time ago, but I have never worn it. It has been stored in a dark place in its box without being worn. It has pockets on the sides. I researched it and believe it is a high-quality ladies' "velvet (velveteen/velour-type) jacket/coat" that was sold in Japan during the Showa era (probably the 1960s-70s). It is clean with no noticeable scratches or stains, but one of the buttons is loose. There is also a slight smell characteristic of the material.
